Leadership

Pastor

Wimbai Mutonono

Wimbai initially joined to Journey Christian Church as Interim Lead Pastor in 2014.  In the Spring of 2015 Wimbai and his family officially confirmed the desire to serve at Journey Christian Church.  Wimbai’s vision is to see Journey grow to be a place where people experience and share God’s grace, and a place where people find their next steps toward Jesus.

Wimbai has great passion for teaching and preaching, and loves connecting with people in the context of relational ministry.

Prior to coming to Journey Wimbai served as Founding Executive Director with Gulf South Leadership Institute, a Greater New Orleans non-profit that served churches and faith-based non profits with leadership development services and resources.

Wimbai and his wife Lena are both graduates of Kentucky Christian University, an Independent Christian Church school in Grayson, Kentucky.  Wimbai and Lena have two children Stephen and Vera.
