Kids Ministry | JourneyTown

What’s JourneyTown?

Journey Christian Church partners with mom and dads to help kids learn to love God, love others, develop and grow a stronger relationship with Christ through prayer and God’s Word.  At JourneyTown, we apply teachings of the Bible to everyday life.

JourneyTown is structured to appropriately meet the needs of the kids at their various ages.

  • JourneyTown Toddlers
    • 1-3 year olds class

  • JourneyTown Elementary
    • 6-8 year olds class

JourneyTown Toddlers

For children ages 1 to 3.

Our experienced educators and trained volunteers provide our little ones the special care they need while parents participate in our Sunday service.  Even little ones can be taught simple Bible Truths through music and other fun activities. JourneyTown Toddlers encourages the “well-baby” policy, sick one’s need to stay home and get well.

JourneyTown Toddlers PK

For children ages 4 to 5.

JourneyTown Toddlers class provides our pre-k and kindergarten kids a high energy learning environment where kids learn through song, dance, games, and crafts. Our high-energy volunteers do the best to keep up with this group of kids while impacting their lives by teaching biblical principles effectively.

JourneyTown Elementary

For children ages 6 to 8.

JourneyTown Elementary caters to curious elementary school children through games, crafts, and Bible teaching discussion.  Kids are taught about God’s love and how they can live every day reflecting that love to their family and friends.

Check-In & Safety

First time visitors will go to the JourneyTown check-in kiosk in our Café (by the stairs) where our team will register your child and give your child a name badge with a parent pick-up tag. Please let us know if your child has any allergies or special requirements during the check-in time. If we need to contact you during service, a member of our team will contact you.

After your first visit, check-in will then be streamlined as our team will be able to quickly sign you in and print your child’s name badge and parent pick-up tag.

At the end of the service, you can pick up your child by going upstairs to where our JourneyTown classrooms are located.  You may then show your parent pick-up tag to a member of our team standing by JourneyTown classroom doors and your child will be released to you.

Safety is our first commitment – without it, ministry cannot happen.  Journey Christian Church leadership, JourneyTown staff, and volunteers highly prioritize the safety, and children will not be released to anyone not possessing the correct pick-up tag or to a minor.  We want to ensure our team is aware of any allergies or special requirements your child may have before we offer them any snacks or refreshments, so please let us know how we can best take care of your child.

Our Current Curriculum

JourneyTown Pre-K & K and JourneyTown Kids teachers and volunteers teach from the Sparkhouse Holy Moly curriculum.  This curriculum is taught year-round and allows JourneyTown teachers with the flexibility and ease to help curious minds learn by listening, hearing, and doing.  See the video below for more information.
